New attendees usually sit in the luxury suites, showcasing the top-half of their latest US Open outfits. Last summer, Taylor Swift made her US Open debut in the uppermost tier. The football WAG segued to tennis-core with a gingham Reformation mini dress (in Kansas City Chiefs red, of course). The closer you get to the court, the more Wimbledon-inspired the attire reads. See Kendall Jenner a few rows below Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. The supermodel looked Centre Court-ready in a polished little white dress and The Row accessories, straight out of the London tournament's all-white look book.
If I'm lucky, celebrity tennis-goers will pose for an unofficial step-and-repeat before the initial serve. Unfortunately, this was more common before the 2000s. Back in 1999, Britney Spears was all smiles at her first (and only) US Open. Marie Claire's senior fashion news editor, Halie LeSavage applauds Spears and her larger-than-life tennis ball—"method dressing before we even had a term for it."

Now, the US Open is back for the 125th edition—and outfits inspired by the players' gear are much more common. From now until September 8, I'll be watching the stands like a hawk, searching for the year's best take on tennis-core. In the meantime, I asked Marie Claire editors to round up their favorite celebrity outfits from US Opens past, all of which will be going on my mood board for next year. I'm manifesting a suite to see the best looks IRL.

"It was seven years ago, but I still remember it like it was yesterday: the Hadid sisters gloriously flouting the post-Labor Day style 'rule' at the U.S. Open. While Bella looked great, it's Gigi's look that stands out for me. That Vivienne Westwood shirt, casually tossed over one shoulder! The white biker shorts to match her sister's dress! The nameplate necklace ("Zayn," because this was seven years ago) and little Prada bag! There's an effortlessness to this look I can't get enough of."—Jenny Hollander, digital director

"This US Open look rewrites the tennis-prep playbook—trading crisp polos for a glossy varsity jacket and some denim cutoffs. The loafers with scrunched socks are the perfect early-fall curveball: sporty and a little irreverent."—Sara Holzman, style director

"Before there was Tashi Duncan in Loewe, there was Zendaya in Cartier for the 2022 US Open. Luca Guadagnino had to have seen the shots of Z in her aviator reading glasses and Cartier Panthére watch and been inspired forChallengers.
Zendaya's courtside outfit is luxurious because it's so understated: she doesn't have to play the over-the-top, on-theme US Open styling game to win best-dressed all the same."—Halie LeSavage, senior fashion news editor

"Emily Ratajkowski approached her 2023 US Open outfit the same way I would if I could swing a ticket to the coveted tennis championship: the tastemaker went with an undeniably preppy outfit, but with a tongue-in-cheek twist that spoke to her distinct fashion POV.
She nodded to the signature prepster, yuppie code of a cardigan slung over her shoulders with a front-knot slate gray sweater, but chose black leather knee-high boots instead of the expected tennis sneaker for shoes. Ratajkowski's US Open outfit was clever, on theme, and, crucially, very on brand for the cool girl."—Emma Childs, fashion features editor

"I love Bella’s off-duty model looks, but seeing her in denim is always the icing on the cake because it's so relatable. I think this look was so flattering as it hugs her figure, but still gives that 'I’m here to serve' vibe!"—Ashlyn Delaney, associate social media editor

"This Kendall Jenner look makes my minimalist heart soar. From the baseball cap to the chunky earrings (which perfectly tie in to her Bottega Veneta bag, might I add), this outfit is a masterclass on accessorizing.
Navy and butter yellow is also a color combination I would have never thought to style together, yet it proves to be so chic. Dare I say, Kendall was way ahead of the curve when she stepped out in this look in 2022?"—Brooke Knappenberger, associate commerce editor

"I said it when I covered the look last year, and I'll say it again: Taylor Swift's "Miss Americana" Reformation mini dress was the best surprise the 2024 US Open had to offer to me, personally. Covering Swift's outfits for Marie Claire is its own spectator sport, but this sighting was refreshingly simple and Easter egg-free.
There's something so classic about the way she styled her dress with black sunglasses and a bright red lip—and it's sweet that Kelce got in on the couples' coordination with his red-and-white Gucci outfit. I suspect summer 2025's gingham obsession started with this outfit in the center of the industry's mood board. While I missed out on shopping Swift's exact dress last time, I'm crossing my fingers she'll come back in another under-$300 find."—Halie LeSavage

"Seeing Serena Williams at the 2024 US Open made my tennis-loving heart melt. It was the GOAT's first time watching from the stands, as opposed to playing in 21 tournaments.
She sourced herself for style inspiration, specifically the pleated denim mini skirt she wore at the 2004 US Open. A cropped short-sleeve jacket completed Williams's Canadian tuxedo. Everything from her chunky sneakers to double-denim will be my blueprint when I eventually sign up for classes."—Meguire Hennes, fashion staff writer

"Olympian Jordan Chiles was a whole vibe at the 2024 US Open. Her pleated skirt and collegiate cardigan were such a cute way to bring her personal style courtside. I love the way she added a bit of girliness with the pearl necklace to contrast the super-sporty look!"—Christina D'Ambrosio, deputy director, social

"Barbra Streisand only visited the US Open once, 32 years ago. Even so, her all-white outfit lives rent-free in my head. If I ever score tickets, catch me in the Grammy winner's summer whites, from her bucket hat to her statement sneakers. The rounded sunglasses upped her tennis attire's Nantucket-ready aura."—Meguire Hennes

"Not to mix my pop girl metaphors, but Britney Spears's 1999 US Open outfit is the Sporty Spice ideal. She matched her long-sleeve tee and mini skirt to an extra-large tennis ball for her photo op. The more I flip through the archives, the more I'm tempted to copy her chunky sneakers, if not the entire on-theme outfit."—LeSavage

"Whenever I'm feeling little white dress fatigue (which is often in the summer), I study Beyoncé's 2016 US Open outfit for inspiration. On day four, she sat courtside in a taupe-and-white top from For Love & Lemons. Its floral cutout bodice just barely peeked out from underneath a Zimmermann trench coat.
Before Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, Bey was ahead of The Row rise with oversize round sunglasses. She hasn't attended the US Open since, but I have hope for her grand return this year."—Meguire Hennes
]]>This season, it’s all about versatile finds and elevated design details. Suede jackets (especially the ones at Zara) have effectively replaced leather options as the go-to style of he season. Barn jackets, like the ones from J.Crew, are popular amongst London and New York It-girls for their easy-to-style capabilities. They're back for 2025 in a mix of classic and revamped fall-ready colorways. And if you loved summer’s boho trend, consider an embroidered jacket that gives the same energy as the weather cools—the trend is still going strong for fall, after all.
Ahead, find enough street style inspo to suit your fancy, plus a few editor-selected trendy jackets that you can rely on for the next four months. And while you're sprucing up your fall wardrobe, stock up on the most in-demand shoes, bags, and more.

Suede is the luxe-feeling fabric that fashion insiders are rallying behind this season. Often found in rich shades of brown, it offers a way to expertly transition your summer dresses (and other essentials) into fall. Then, layer it over a knit once the fall weather actually kicks in.

I don't believe that essential items need to be boring. Instead, why not invest in elevated versions of the pieces we need to wear? That's why I'm so obsessed with fall's windbreaker trend. The once-sidelined style is back for autumn in chic colors and outfitted with on-trend details, so there's never been a better time to buy.

Funnel-necked styles offer a mix of form and function. Firm, high collars protect against bitter winds and rain. At the same time, they give even the simplest outfit a feeling of dramatic flair. For more style points, Olsen-tuck your hair into the back of your collar.

If you loved summer's obsession with track pants and sporty shorts, you're going to love the track jacket trend. Even the least athletic shoppers amongst us know that the style is working right now.

I've been a bomber jacket superfan for a few years now. Part retro, part cool-girl, this season's bomber offerings are made in a mix of preppy cotton fabrics (like the ones in Aritzia's newest fall drop) and smooth, subtly oversized leather.

We can't spend the chilly weather months bundled under a blanket. On the days when that's impossible, consider a quilted jacket. They add a subtle whimsical touch to even the most formal fall outfits.

Barn Jackets are one of the must-have jackets not just for this season, but for every season. The silhouette is timeless, but not boring, especially when they come in easy-to-style prints and colors and with elevated suede details.
]]>Following an early-morning photoshoot on August 16, the '90s-loving fashion muse was spotted channeling the decade's minimalism in low-waisted khaki pants. They followed the same straight-leg silhouette as her usual denim. On top, Jenner kept it casual in a cropped black tank.(The trending rugby shirt would've read too uniform-ish.) To finish, she accessorized with oval-shaped sunglasses and an L.A. Dodgers baseball cap. Much to my dismay, I haven't ID'ed Jenner's leather carry-all yet. Knowing her, it's from The Row.

I didn't expect to see a khaki-clad Jenner at all this month—if not the entire year. Her flip-flops, on the other hand? I would've bet money on their re-appearance. True to form, she continued her months-long sandal streak in The Row's Dune Flip-Flops.
The $690 slides reached It-shoe status with an assist from dozens of Jenner's casual outfits, encouraging Jennifer Lawrence, Dakota Johnson, Bieber, and Zoë Kravitz to follow suit. Even her sister, Kylie Jenner, got the memo. By styling them with particularly fall-ish pants, the eldest Jenner proved flip-flops are sticking around for another season.
After analyzing Jenner's paparazzi pics, I decided to take my khakis back to the drawing board. Last weekend, I paired them with a button-down and chunky sneakers, leaning into their office-y aura. But, I believe I missed the mark. Jenner's khakis felt effortlessly cool because of her summery accents, especially the flip-flops. Maybe that's what my Saturday morning set was missing.
On August 17, the mom-to-be finally went cozy-chic in a pinstripe pajama set from her loungewear label, Savage x Fenty. She Rihanna-ified the Sleep Button-Down and matching pants for an errands run around Los Angeles, with help from a reliable styling hack: wrapping her hair in a satin scarf. The head-piece covered her forehead and ears, meeting in a tie at the base of her neck. It was mainly taupe and ivory to match her pajamas-turned-streetwear. Occasional pops of baby blue complemented her oversize heart-shaped Valentino earrings.

If Rihanna wants to wear sleepwear from now until she's in labor, that's fine by me. She can even style house slippers for all I care—or the designer equivalent, ballet flats. Instead of her now-signature Puma Speedcat sneakers, she made the switch to Maison Margiela Tabis. The split-toe model, in all its freakishly delightful glory, featured a satin rose gold finish.
Rihanna's Tabis don't get nearly as much street time as her Pumas. She debuted the $1,191 flats in May 2025, alongside a bow-embellished JW Anderson maxi dress. Before then, she hadn't worn the split-toe shoes since her summer 2016 Tabi ankle boots.
In the intervening years, Tabis divided the fashion community in the style of its cleft toe. Celebrities like Zendaya, Dua Lipa, and Doechii embraced their hoof-like shape, while online creators bemoaned their unusual shape.

Not everyone agrees Tabis are glamorous. But everyone can agree Rihanna's frosted-out accessories define "lavish." If you look closely enough, you'll spot her $99,900 rose gold watch, courtesy of Audemars Piguet. (Between its pink dial and thick, chainlink band, the rich-looking timepiece is hard to miss.)
Even Rihanna's shoulder got the four-figure treatment. She carried her new Gucci Medium Padlock GG Shoulder Bag, a monogrammed taupe-and-white tote available for $2,415.
The PJ trend has come a long way since last summer. Jennifer Lawrence and Kim Kardashian have also swapped lacy nightgowns and bra tops for matching pajama sets. That said, now's the time follow in Rihanna's footsteps, giving the sleepwear and controversial shoe trends some sun.
Prada showed straight-leg jeans in weathered vintage washes, while Khaite’s were deep, dark blue and tucked into luxe leather thigh-high boots. Chloé doubled down on the boho fashion revival it initiated last fall with fit-and-flare denim; around the show’s midway point, creative director Chemena Kamali sent out split-hem boot-cut jeans styled with lacy camisoles and floor-length maxi coats, an instant contender for the It girl uniform of the season.
Keep scrolling to take a closer look at the denim trending this fall, ranging from slim and skinny to super-sized, baggy jeans. Plus, tips and insight into how to style each silhouette this autumn.

If you've been waiting with bated breath for the downturn of the baggy denim boom, the straight-leg jeans seen across the Fall 2025 runways, from Prada in Paris to Sportmax in Milan, is cause for celebration. At both Isabel Marant and Khaite, slimmer-fitting denim was tucked into tall black boots (coincidentally, also a top fall 2025 shoe trend), a worthwhile outfit option with a very classic autumn feel. Otherwise, consider how Prada, Sportmax, and Diesel paired their boyfriend jeans with quirky tunics and strapless tops.

Split hems gave denim a more interesting, unexpected, and peek-a-boo edge this season. Tory Burch and Chloé are the top pioneers of the trend, but each showed different options on styling the slitted silhouetted; Tory Burch went in a more preppy direction with button-down shirts and sweater vests, while Chloé's lace tanks and faux fur coats combos were capital-B Boho.

Those who are partial to oversized, loose denim aren't without options this season. Bally, Coach, and Stella McCartney's bold, baggy jeans look as comfortable as your favorite pair of sized-up sweatpants, whereas Versace's are less of a large and in charge statement. Consider taking a cue from Gen Z with their "big pant, little shirt" styling ethos when trying the trend—Bally's baby tee and Sandy Liang's cropped cardigan are good references.

Ranging from chunked-up hemlines to slight fold-overs, cuffed jeans were peppered across runways and went in almost every denim direction imaginable. Whether you buy a pre-cuffed pair or do the work yourself, a trusty blazer or button-down will elevate the bottoms to be appropriate for casual days at the office or downtown lunches.

Rich blue, almost violet washes were one of the most popular sights seen throughout the Fall 2025 season—making indigo a front-running fall color trend in the process—rendered in barrel-leg styles at Nili Lotan and Awake Mode, as well as wearably baggy at Louis Vuitton and Willy Chavarria. Pair indigo jeans with a seasonally fitting plaid shirt, and it'll become your reliably on-trend fall formula.

Crystals, embroidery, and hand-painted prints—you name a type or embellishment or decal, and it graced the Fall 2025 runways. If you pick a pair like Undercover's thread-stitched style or Etro's floral denim, opt for more elevated outfit complements so the look doesn't give an arts and crafts feel, like starched shirting and your best loafers.
]]>Most recently, on August 17, Hadid delivered an unofficial step-and-repeat outside her West Hollywood hotel. She curated her anti-fall color trends outfit around a strapless mini dress from With Jéan, a celebrity-beloved brand.
The Australian label advertises Hadid's mini as a "halter-neck dress with a self-tie strap," but the model styled her butter yellow pick strapless. Its drop-waist bodice draped loosely atop two eyelet-embellished belts around her waist. A touch of the bubble-hem trend gave her thigh-length skirt a similar billowy bottom. Shockingly, the halter-turned-strapless style is still available for $239.

Always on board for a pointy pump, Hadid paired her LBD (little butter dress) with Roger Vivier margarine-ish yellow. slingback heels. The patent pair didn't tower over the sidewalk quite like the sky-high Le Sillas she wore to an Ôrebella launch party on August 13. Still, with white-and-yellow uppers, stiletto heels, and gold hardware, the "Vivs" were a perfect pick for daytime.
Hadid has access to any atelier on the market, so she rarely wears one outfit twice. The Ôrebella founder makes an exception for With Jéan, however. This week alone, she's sourced them on four separate occasions—most notably, while promoting her new perfume, Eternal Roots. On August 14, she filmed a TikTok in the same butter yellow mini. She even styled the Magnol Dress similarly with minimal, gold jewelry.
You may not know it, but you've seen Hadid in two additional With Jéan looks this week. She also posed in the Poppy short set, featuring a white Henley top and micro-mini bottoms, on August 14. A few hours later, she changed into the Sharni Top, also in ivory. In her closet, white is a shade that's just like butter yellow: It's so versatile, it never expires.
If you’ve put your cowboy boots on ice all summer, now’s the perfect time to break them out and build a look around them. Avoid overheating by pairing your boots with lighter materials like poplin, linen, or silk.
I love wearing cocoa brown all year round, but it feels especially right in the fall. Add a shot of this color to your outfit if you’re over bright, bold colors that scream summer.
This should go without saying, but: heading into Labor Day doesn’t mean you have to stash your white clothing, especially your white jeans and T-shirts. We’re past that antiquated rule, right? Still, if you need a little push, lean on footwear (try leather flip flops or loafers) and flouncy details to make it work.
While I am still (personally, for me) anti-capri pants, I will forever be Team Long Jorts. I find them to be more versatile—you can wear them with everything from knee-high boots to flat sandals—and, TBH, easier to style. Ideal for between-season weather!

On August 17, Bieber dined at Coucou Restaurant in West Hollywood wearing a khaki-colored take on the anti-trend. Her '90s-inspired trousers were more high-rise than her usual pants, which she left belt-free. The elongated hems juxtaposed her fitted black long-sleeve top. Other angles reveal her shirt is a boat-neck basic, one of her favorite necklines this summer.
Bieber's WeHo wardrobe would've leaned decidedly October-ish without her kitten heel flip-flops. The Rhode founder slipped on her trusty $520 Toteme thongs, which she's worn on repeat since March. At this point, they're the most versatile shoes in the supermodel's closet, complementing jeans, capris, and trousers all season long. Knowing Bieber, the flip-flops will remain in rotation long after their (supposed) end-of-August expiration date.

Bieber's purse of the evening might've gone unnoticed by those who don't study her daily style. But, after analyzing the blink-and-you'll-miss-it bag, I can confirm: It's the Small Park Tote Bag by The Row. The A-lister debuted her grained calfskin leather handbag this June. It immediately caught fashion girls' attention for its flat handles, interior toggle closure, and $1,550 price tag.
Since June, she's reworn it at least five times, including at the gym in late July. It looked surprisingly cool girl-coded alongside cloud-like slippers from her husband, Justin Bieber's streetwear label, SKYLRK.
Since her trousers streak started in April, Bieber has favored wide-leg black pairs. (The lower the waistline, the better.) Until now, she had yet to style any other color.
In late June, she paired her now-signature Toteme sandals with similar-looking trousers, except in black. This time, her khaki pick was an unseasonal trench coat layered over a white crop top. Bieber's belted Toteme bag bared a striking resemblance to her The Row tote.

In late July, Marie Claire's associate commerce editor, Brooke Knappenberger, predicted the wide-leg trouser takeover, calling them the "best transitional piece out there." Bieber is proving her point, one evening out at a time.
Arriving at the Only Murders in the Building event to a crowd of fans, Gomez was seen wearing a high-necked black dress with an asymmetrical hem, and a long white coat. The actress and producer paired her monochrome clothing with accessories that really popped.
For starters, Gomez carried her Valentino Garavani Vain VLOGO Leather Top-Handle Bag, which retails for $4,100. The singer has been photographed holding this exact purse on multiple occasions, and even paired it with her red turtleneck Cult Gaia dress just last week.

Along with her statement red glasses, Gomez completed her outfit with a pair of heeled flip-flops. While flip-flops have been one of summer 2025's key fashion trends, numerous celebrities have opted for a heeled option this season.
For instance, Hailey Bieber has continually shown her love for Toteme's heeled flip-flops, while Kylie Jenner appears to favor Amina Muaddi's Juliette Patent Kitten Thong Sandals, which cost $800.

Just last month, Gomez was spotted wearing a similar pair of heeled flip-flops, opting for a pair of Proenza Schouler Cable T-Strap Sandals for a date night with Benny Blanco. Clearly, the Rare Beauty founder is a newfound fan of the popular style.
Posting a carousel of photos featuring the show-stopping dress, Lipa wrote on Instagram, "my bestie made me a killer dress for another perfect night...everyone say thank you Giuliiiiiiii...also i'm gonna need to start a cake tally at this rate."
The pop star's GCDS dress by designer Giuliano Calza is reminiscent of Paris Hilton's iconic 2002 Julien Macdonald chainmail dress, but customized specifically for Lipa. Featuring a high neckline, two side splits, and a completely open torso on both sides, the perfectly draped dress sparkles in every photograph.

Lipa accessorized her ridiculously shimmery dress with silver Piferi Izma Lace-Up Sandals. While the Barbie star's exact heels have sadly sold out, alternative silver pumps in similar styles are still available.

For jewelry, an eye-catching pair of $4,460 Schiaparelli Fish Skeleton Gold Earrings—heavily leaning into 2025's fish jewelry trend—contrasted with Lipa's almost entirely silver outfit. A smörgåsbord of Tiffany & Co. pieces further accentuated the birthday look, including the brand's $1,400 Elsa Peretti Open Center Cuff, a $1,700 Elsa Peretti Open Side Cuff, and an $1,800 Elsa Peretti Small Bone Cuff in Sterling Silver. Finally, a $6,500 Shay Diamond Baguette Pave Pinky Ring completed the impeccable outfit.

Lipa also wore her custom engagement ring from Turner—rumored to be worth as much as $30,000—bringing her jewelry total for the event to $45,860, which is more than a little impressive.
]]>Some shoppers might consider the paw-forward style "ugly." Khanmalek found them "offensive in a delicious way." "I was definitely influenced to consider wearing them," she tells me.

Vibram FiveFingers weren't initially designed to stop fashion girls in their tracks. The brand originated in 1937 as a hub for mountaineering shoes. When the ergonomic FiveFingers line was introduced in 2005, its barefoot-adjacent designed was geared toward yacht crews: people who are shoe-less by profession but needed extra grip to stay steady on the deck. Hardcore trail runners then picked up the style as a part of a nearly-barefoot exercise movement (with mixed results).
Now, they're hardly seen in just an athletic context. From the streets of Copenhagen Fashion Week to the wardrobes of It girls like Blackpink's Jennie and supermodel Paloma Elsesser, Vibram FiveFingers have lately become the so-ugly-it's-chic shoe of choice. Pairs range from a Mary Jane adjacent flat to low-cut ballerina sneaker, each with breathable, netted mesh uppers and defining sleeves for each toe. Lyst reports the line received a 110 percent boost in searches during Q2 this year. The V-sole flats landed between Miu Miu's boat shoes and Ancient Greek Sandals' jelly flats on the firm's ranking of the quarter's "Hottest Items."
In a fashion context, they look like viral Alaïa ballet flat went to a summer adventure camp and came back a little crunchier. The same cohort of well-dressed women as the initial Alaïas style them with jeans and summer dresses all the same. In a summer defined by luxury toe rings, $690 Dune sandals, and all-around naked shoes, Vibram FiveFingers' turn away from their earthy roots is not necessarily unexpected—but it still has the capacity to surprise.

"In New York, it’s hard to shock anyone, but I get the 'what is that?' factor," says Yana Bononi, founder of the creative agency Y2B. "There’s something about seeing the exact shape of a foot that pushes people’s comfort zones, and that tension makes them exciting."
She acquired her first pair at a customization event hosted by Caterina Mongillo, the upcycling designer at Metagirl, and has since styled them with everything from wide-leg jeans to romantic skirts. Mongillo, meanwhile, has been a fan for nearly three years. Her first secondhand pair of neoprene lake shoes sparked a search for sold-out, baby-pink V-Souls across sites like Vinted, Vestiaire Collective, and Poshmark (where they're often in short supply).
"From a fashion standpoint, I love that it goes with any outfit, from street to smart, because in the end it’s an extension of your own anatomy," she says. "I typically style my pair with knee-high ribbons blending into some capri pants, or paired with a cute balloon mini skirt. It evokes freedom and awakens the little wood fairy in me."
TikTok creator Melina Flores has styled her pairs as she would any other ballet flat since discovering them on the platform: with dresses, with denim, "the list goes on and on." For Flores, FiveFingers similarly bring a sense of whimsy to her grown-up wardrobe. "I loved running around barefoot as a child and I hoped these would deliver the nostalgia while being a practical everyday shoe," she says.

For all their newfound fans, there are still fashion people who don't quite understand the appeal. Marie Claire fashion features editor Emma Childs tells me a friend's Vibram FiveFingers purchase set off a heated debate among her friends at a recent dinner. When one pal said the shoes made "erognomics sexy," Childs had the opposite reaction: "It would be like her feet were topless" at the bar, she says.
They did challenge her outlook on shoe trends all the same. "It made me wonder if I've been brainwashed by a 'beauty is pain' mentality for too long," Childs says. "What's wrong with someone choosing a comfort-first shoe, even if it does give me the heebie jeebies?"
Flores understands why some shoppers might hesitate when they see ten toes caressing the sidewalk in mesh. "They’re not something that I was used to seeing out and about in my day to day life, so maybe that is where the discomfort from some people comes from—straying from the norm. I do believe the adverse reactions to them to be overblown," she adds.
Mongillo adds, "We are still in the early stages when it comes to fashion, so only pioneers and early adopters really understand it." She cites the Latin phrase De gustibus non est disputandum in her FiveFingers defense. "[It's a] phrase that says taste is personal and shouldn’t be subject to judgment, and I think it applies here," she explains. "The reactions are definitely overblown, in the end it’s the drama that makes fashion fun."
Some of FiveFingers' appeal seems to be the reactions non-believers have when they see them, anyway, Bononi says. "I love pairing them with wide-leg jeans so only the toes peek out—it’s such a fun, almost sneaky way to style them and watch people on the street do a double-take, like, Wait, am I seeing this right?"

In August 2024, fashion writer Liana Satenstein told subscribers to her newsletter, Never Worns, that the age of the Vibram shoe was only just beginning. "We will all be FiveFingered soon," she wrote.
A year later, stylish women are still adjusting to the idea of individually wrapping up their digits—but they're not totally opposed to them, either. "I’m not quite to the point of purchase yet," Khanmalek says. "But as with everything I once deemed unwearable, I’m sure I’ll get there soon." Meanwhile, the early FiveFingers adopters will be standing ten-toes down in their favorite shoes.
Collins is currently in Venice where she's been filming season 5 of Emily in Paris alongside co-star Ashley Park. The pair were photographed hopping on to one of Venice's iconic water taxis with their on-screen love interests, with Collins's character diving head first into the polka-dot trend.
With her hair tied back to reveal a pair of large, chunky gold hoop earrings, Collins was seen wearing a black and white polka-dot two-piece set. The set consisted of a calf-length flared skirt and a crop top with thick straps, both featuring a striking black and white polka-dot design. While it's unclear where the wardrobe department sourced the sleek matching set from, multiple brands have leaned into the exact same print this season.

Collins was also photographed filming a restaurant scene in the city, this time opting for a black and white polka-dot dress, with a matching scarf draped around her neck. A pair of long diamond drop earrings accessorized the on-trend dress, while the actress wore a dark red shade of lipstick.
The sleek dress appears to be Nina Ricci's Polka Dots Bustier Mini Dress, which retails for $1,535.

With Collins joining celebs like Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, and Kylie Jenner in embracing the polka-dot trend, it's clear the revived pattern isn't going anywhere.
]]>On August 14, one day before her 35th birthday, Lawrence was photographed climbing into a vehicle with her friends while wearing a comfy yet chic outfit. For clothing, the actress kept her look casual in a pair of dark green sweatpants and a baggy white T-shirt.
Instead of wearing her favorite The Row flip-flops, Lawrence chose a pair of Ugg Coquette Slippers, which retail for $130. Available in a series of different colors—including pink—Lawrence was seen wearing the brand's classic Chestnut color scheme.

The Joy actress completed her outfit with a Liffner Sisal Basket Bag in Black, which retails for $445. Although Lawrence's exact Liffner bag is getting trickier to track down, the silhouette has been a popular style during summer 2025. As a result, similar styles can be found at alternate retailers, for anyone hoping to replicate the actress's outfit.
Just as influencers, models, and celebrities have embraced the resurgent Ugg trend, summer 2025 has also seen a rise in popularity when it comes to the basket bag and bucket bag trends. While Jennifer Lopez was recently photographed carrying Prada's $2,200 Mini Wicker Bucket Bag, purses like The Row's $6,100 Brown Medium Woven N/S Tote have continually shown their enduring popularity, too.
Unsurprisingly, Lawrence's low-key outfit is right on-trend in every way.
The Grammy winner stashed her guests' phones before playing all twelve songs on the record, beginning with "Manchild." (It's a spoiler-proof security measure.) She looked like she'd walked off the music video's set in a nostalgic, button-down dress. Its designer, like the new songs, remains a mystery. The cardigan-ish bodice, micro-mini skirt, and tweed texture felt so Chanel-coded, however. Carpenter and her stylist, Jared Ellner, sourced vintage Dolce & Gabbana for the risqué cover, so an archival piece isn't out of the question.

The A-lister's Instagram filter suggested her dress was butter yellow (a signature shade in her feminine, '60s-inspired aesthetic). But after careful inspection, the long-sleeve look revealed itself as stark white with gold cascading buttons.
Her accessories were as under-wraps as the music, with only a few photos making it out of the vevent. Knowing Carpenter, she popped on sky-high platform pumps. If you look closely enough, you'll see a beaded top-handle bag sitting atop the mixing board. It appeared to share an ivory, bubbled exterior with Carpenter's dress.

While their wardrobes couldn't be more different, a shared "Secret Sessions" experience feels right up Swift and Carpenter's alley. The "Espresso" singer opened for Swift on the Eras Tour from August 2023 until March 2024. This fall, Carpenter will be a featured vocalist on The Life of a Showgirl's title track.
Back in the day, Swift's listening parties looked similar to Carpenter's. When she hosted 1989 sessions in London, Nashville, New York City, and Rhode Island in 2014, she rotated between pleated mini skirts and LBDs. Before Reputation dropped in November 2017, she did it again—this time, while wearing grungy camouflage and Valentino lace-up boots. For the final "Secret Session" in August 2019, the pop star channeled Lover-core in a romantic Free People set and Gucci espadrille sandals.
Today, I'm feeling as much FOMO now as I did during Swift's Lover era. I have a message for Sabrina Carpenter: If you host another session, please save me a seat—or at least tell me where you found your dress.
Sure, you probably already know about classic black styles or even ones that come in a funky, ‘70s-inspired croc print. But what about the sky-high platform styles that nearly broke the internet (and a few ankles) when they debuted at Gucci earlier this year? They’re one of fall’s biggest shoe trends, as are grandpa-core tasseled loafers—another controversial trend that fashion insiders have already co-signed for fall.
If you’re ready to ditch your sneakers (and your sandals, for that matter), keep reading. Below, I’ve chronicled the must-have loafer trends you can invest in now and style to perfection over the next four months.

Suede trends every fall, but this year, everyone is obsessed with suede loafers in particular. It's easy to see why. The forgiving fabric is less blister-prone than traditional leather and wears better over time to perfectly fit your foot. Plus, some of the styles here are basically just fall-ified versions of summer's boat shoe trend, proving that preppy styles are here to stay.

Less of a trend and more of worthwhile investment, black loafers are everywhere right now. If you haven't picked up a pair for yourself, consider any of the incredibly chic styles below. Some come in a nightime-friendly patent leather fabrication, while others prove that sticking to the basics works best.

Croc print is so subtle, you might not even notice it's there—but thats the point. It offers eagle-eyed shoppers a little something special compared to the rest of the finds on this list. No matter which shade you end up choosing, they give your outfits a cool retro flare.

File this style under: the perfect transitional shoe trend. Loafer mules offer you the flexibility of a sandal without having to expose your toes to the gritty streets, and allow you to accessorize with a chunky sock once the weather cools.

Call your grandpa and ask if it's okay to borrow his loafers—tassels are back for fall. Go all-out old man with a pair of chunky socks and a thick sweater, or play tap into the wrong shoe theory by teaming a pair of chunky loafers with a sweet dress.

If Bella Hadid is already a fan of a shoe, I know I should at least consider trying it for fall. Case in point: her love of platform loafers. She recently wore a pair in New York, so I would prepare to see them everywhere this season.
]]>Blunt's character, Emily Charlton, has been spotted far less than Hathaway, so her style arc remains somewhat of a mystery. However, her endorsement of the Coach renaissance proves she's up with the times. In between takes, Blunt was papped in a striped intarsia sweater, featuring a hand-knit Big Apple in the center. Is the Londoner trying to fit into New York's street style scene? A black button-down peeked out from underneath a chainlink tie in silver to match Emily's jewels.
At first, I had to do a double take: I didn't recognize Emily without her signature red hair. A bold red lip and monogrammed Dior sunglasses also helped conceal her identity. Though, custom Coach and a leather mini skirt isn't exactly an average New Yorker's uniform.

A few hours later, Blunt exited her trailer in the same Coach long-sleeve. This time, she swapped the mini skirt for crimson red trousers straight out of Jennifer Lawrence's closet. Her ankle boots also disappeared, making way for chunky white sneakers—presumably the Axel Arigato trainers Blunt wore on set in July. She's certainly no Miranda Priestly, but her Prada shoulder bag felt right up the ferocious editor-in-chief's alley.

Coach made its The Devil Wears Prada 2 debut on Andy Sachs's shoulder in late July. Hathaway proved she's in on Coach's comeback with a vintage Metropolitan Briefcase. The top-flap, leather buckled messenger initially released in 1987, but in the 2025 sequel, it resurfaced as Andy's laptop bag. The beloved brand recently revived Hathaway's exact style, re-listing it for $895.

With Andy and Emily's approval, I wouldn't be surprised if Miranda tries Bella Hadid's Brooklyn Bag next.
The most popular styles follow a similar silhouette. They have a drawstring at the waist and a simple, straight fit through the leg, hitting just at the top of your foot. Most commonly found in neutral autumnal shades like black, cream, or olive green, they also serve as the ideal wear-everywhere, end-of-summer foundational find. And since they're just as breathable as linen, they work well for the transitional period, when the temperature hovers in the mid-eighties. I personally plan on styling them with my usual rotation of oversized knits for an upscale and elevated play on sweatpants this winter.
Ahead, I found a few pairs from all of my favorite brands that I have my eye on. One (or two, or three) of these is sure to end up in my closet over the next few months, and they should find a home in yours, too.

Quince is the brand on every insider's lips right now.

I own two pairs of the Olina pants in linen, so these immediately caught my eye

I love this chocolate brown hue.

Jennifer Lawrence's favorite Colby pants come in silk, in case you were wondering.

Hailey Bieber is a huge Leset fan, and now I am, too.

Yes, these are technically pajama pants, but they're too chic to keep indoors.
The fall-forward pieces I have my eye on range in trendy colors, prints, and textures, from a chocolate brown slip dress (perfect for wearing to a wedding, might I add) to a buttery suede jacket I'm obsessed with. Meanwhile, a new slate of fall shoe trends has me itching for a pair of new-season sneakers and comfortable flats. The one thing every item on my shopping list has in common? Each comes with a price tag of $150 or under.
Ahead, I've rounded up every discounted fall item sitting in my online carts, including picks from J.Crew, Madewell, Free People, and more. For cool, budget-friendly picks for your transitional outfits, this list has got you covered.

On August 14, Australian Wednesday fans welcomed Ortega to an outdoor, Addams Family-themed event. Until now, her press tour style has read gothic-glam. Since it's winter down under, Ortega and her stylist, Enrique Melendez, switched gears.
The duo got their hands on Look 26 from Valentino Resort 2026, starring a black fur coat lined with ivory shearling. Next, Ortega followed the brand's directive, coupling the statement topper with the black Valentino Panthea. The nappa leather bag is defined by a chevron pattern, studded straps, and the metal "V" emblem. Ortega carried it by the hardware-coated handle, while the chainlink counterpart dangled below. To finish, the 22-year-old re-wore lace-up boots from Miista, days after she paired them with a satin Ann Demeulemeester slip.

Ortega's callouts to the Resort 2026 set stopped when she layered a satin nightgown underneath. (It's hiding underneath her fabulous fur.) In Valentino imagery, however, the model wore it with a white-and-black mini, plus lace green tights. A leather beret matched the matte exterior of the Panthea. To finish, brown pointy boots gave the look an unexpected, yet welcome rodeo-ready flair.

The Valentino Panthea practically became an It bag overnight, thanks to Anne Hathaway on July 21. While filming The Devil Wears Prada 2, the Oscar winner put the zip-top, Swarovski crystal-embellished tote on everyone's radars, including Rihanna. Not even a week later, fashion enthusiasts spotted it in Dua Lipa's Instagram story.

On August 4, Rihanna boarded the bandwagon for dinner at her favorite Italian restaurant, Giorgio Baldi. Instead of Ortega and Hathaway's all-black colorway, RiRi secured the snakeskin option from Fall 2025. She leaned into the trending animal print's autumnal aura with a fur stole, baggy jeans, and a baby bump-hugging crewneck.

Fast forward to August 13, and another Valentino Panthea made it on Bella Hadid's arm. While celebrating the launch of her Orêbella perfume, the supermodel showcased her newest find alongside a short-sleeve LBD and matching Le Silla pumps.

And just like that, the Valentino Panthea is no longer a trend, but a full-blown favorite among fashion girls.
On August 14, the Game of Thrones star landed in Manhattan, kickstarting her press tour for Trust, a psychological thriller hitting theaters on August 22. Around mid-afternoon, she swapped a snakeskin Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress and heels for sweatpants and Puma Speedcat sneakers. Until this summer, she'd been a Adidas Sambas supporter through and through, rotating between five pairs. In June, however, she made the switch to Puma, starting with Rihanna's signature $90 Speedcats in black with white stripes.
Marking her second Puma-clad set, Turner paired the suede, retro-looking slim sneakers with lounge pants and a gray Akimbo hoodie. The same oversize sunglasses from hours earlier made another appearance.

Now, a moment for Turner's "high" qualifier: a rare Louis Vuitton carry-all she's owned since May 2018. The limited-edition find debuted in an April 2017 collaboration with Jeff Koons,an artist known for his balloon dog sculpture. The 40-piece collection featured classic Louis Vuitton luggage topped with paintings produced by Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Peter Paul Rubens, and more.
Turner owns the Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons Speedy 30, which boasts a hand-painted reimagining of Édouard Manet's "Luncheon on the Grass" circa 1862. Trademark house codes, including the iconic "LV" logo, stretch from the duffel-shaped body to the turquoise side-walls. The top-handles, crossbody strap, and zip closure matched the turquoise tint. In 2017, it retailed for $2,800, but now, it's hard to find for under $5,000.
With her brand ambassador status, it's no surprise Turner got her hands on the collector's item. She's clearly following Rihanna's lead, in terms of styling the Speedy 30. Turner almost always wears it with loungewear while traveling. Last month, she styled a near-identical look around her Louis Vuitton duffel. The only difference? She swapped out Puma Speedcats for her trusty Adidas Sambas.

With her Trust press tour in full swing, Turner's Speedy 30 will likely see the world in the coming days. Stay tuned to see if her Rihanna inspired sneakers keep pace, or if she returns to her signature Sambas.
I found the answer staring back at me as I packed for my first Copenhagen Fashion Week: my pile of thrifted $1 ties.
As I started planning outfits, I had so much fun playing around with different ways to style vintage ties alongside my genius celebrity stylist friend, Olivia Rose. Perfect, I thought. A little unexpected. A little menswear moment.
As it turns out, I wasn't the only one on this styling wavelength. Vintage ties were everywhere in Copenhagen street style this season—worn in so many inventive ways that made me wish I’d thought of them first. And yet, in some ways I was glad others got a head-start, because they proved how versatile this business-classic accessory can really be.

Ties are kind of like leopard print: forever cool, but with waves of "It" status. Ahead, I'm sharing five easy ways to incorporate them into your own fall wardrobe, inspired by the best looks I saw in Copenhagen. When you're done reading, rummage through your dad’s closet or local thrift shop while you can, and get ready to knot, bow, tuck, and pin your favorite ties all fall long.

Amid the chaos of packing, I wanted to zhuzh up a simple denim set. One tie wrapped around the waist felt promising. I added a few more for color, shifted the placement around, and suddenly, I had a colorful, new look that felt purposeful.

Model and activist Lauren Wasser stopped me in my tracks with this look that immediately went on my Pinterest board. The “skirt” was actually two men’s button-down shirts, ingeniously connected into one. She also pinned ties here and there for extra attitude.

There’s something eternally powerful about a woman in a tie. Think tailored suit and sleek hair…or the angsty Avril Lavigne look that defined an era (and now has me thinking about arm socks next). My current favorite TikToker, Dylan Kelly, explains Jonathan Anderson's recent spin on tie styling for Dior so well. It made me immediately want to try to style a tie over just one of my collars in my own way, with a ruffled tulle skirt.

Mostly because I couldn’t find a matching scarf, I tried tying a vintage tie backwards like a choker, the knot perfectly done at the nape. Then, I layered a chunky necklace for drama, letting the tie hang long down the back. Instantly chic.

Sitting across from me at the Iamisigo show was this colorful, friendly face with a red tie knotted into a bow on top of her head. Naturally, I asked to snap a photo. It was effortless and just the right amount of messy: a refreshing twist on the bow trend I’d never really embraced until now.
]]>As the summer winds down, some of its trends have proven that they have the longevity to carry into fall's fashion—like sheer skirts, for instance. I’m sure I’m not the only one who noticed that, especially in the streets of NYC, the hottest accessory of the season was the bum. Yes, I’m talking about a little bit of booty, best accentuated by a statement of a pair of undies peeking out from a see-through bottom.
For years, I’ve been a fan of subtly showing off my undergarments, especially when juxtaposed with a very serious top or a traditional fabric like lace. But this past summer, I’ve noticed translucent, cheeky bottoms—and a widespread naked dressing trend, in general—pop up in the mainstream.

Leading this revolution for me was Barcelona-based designer Paloma Wool, who often makes gauzy garments that either prove to be a fun styling challenge or a thinly-clad statement. I love the delicate silks and satins they work with, which often lend to very feminine but playful looks.

I’ve also been obsessed with the brand Handover’s sparkly skirts that have completely taken over my Instagram feed (and my closet). They play with the sheerness of sequins, and the result is an ultra-cool, almost wet look that also shimmers in the light.
It may seem daunting to style clothing that toes the line between risque and publicly indecent, but if you’re up for the challenge, a sheer skirt delivers a fliratious touch with a high fashion payoff. Personally, my favorite way to wear the cheeky bottom is to fully lean into its sheerness by showing off a pair of cute, colorblocked underwear. But if you'd prefer a more modest approach, you can also opt for boyshorts under to cover more surface area.
As for which top to wear with a sheer shirt, think of the age-old phrase, "opposites attract"—an elevated high neckline or crisp turtleneck is so chic and can balance out the look by adding more structure. Especially for the colder months, the weight of a nice sweater contrasts well with a light, wispy material on the bottom.
And for those who want to dabble in the trend but don’t feel fully comfortable with the near-nakedness, you can always layer two sheer pieces on top of each other for a more opaque look, or even borrow from past eras and use slips underneath to create more coverage. Both of these latter ideas are bonuses during fall's weather, since the extra pieces offer an extra layer of warmth.

So what do you think? Has the cheeky trend gone too far—and are some things truly better left to the imagination? Or have paper-thin skirts only created a new way for us to have fun with what we choose to show and hide?
]]>On August 13, mere minutes after the track list dropped, Swift wasted no time giving the internet more imagery. Marie Claire senior news editor (and Swiftie-in-chief), Halie LeSavage calls Swift "her most exposed and empowered" in photographs by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The Grammy winner looked straight out of the Eras Tour in a corseted one-piece, fishnet tights, and $1,248 Manolo Blahnik Hamedis. Contrary the first cover's bejeweled bodysuit by Area, the only sparkle here was on her shoes. Straps made of rhinestones stretched across each upper, hence the four-figure price tag.
Believe it or not, Swift's Manolos are shockingly still available to shop—and on sale, no less. Her black pumps are marked down to $795. And for future lovely brides, the white version is listed at $570.

We only see Swift's shoes in one other Showgirl setting: a vintage-looking dressing room. While wearing a feather-embellished bodysuit from The Blonds, she sipped champagne in gold René Caovilla sandals. Unfortunately, the chandelier-looking heels aren't on sale—their $2,670 rate remains. But with dangly diamonds wrapping up each leg, they seem to be worth the splurge.

Given her longstanding relationship with Christian Louboutin, Swift isn't often spotted in other designers. But, on the off chance she goes with Manolo Blahniks, it's always a moment for the look books.
The "Lover" singer's latest Manolo-clad look was in December 2024, at a Kansas City Chiefs game While en route to boyfriend Travis Kelce's suite, she was papped in the Lina Suede Boots. The $1,595 knee-high boots are also on sale for $798, but knowing the Swifties, they won't be around for long.

If you thought Swift's Midnights era was bejeweled, prepare to be amazed by the Showgirl phase. The A-lister might have framed her album as a look "behind the curtain," but these crystal-coated pairs belong in the spotlight.

Angelica is the definition of an L.A. cool girl—laid-back, but effortlessly put-together—and her comfy-chic picks reflect this. This classic all-black outfit with a cropped tank and flare-cut bottoms is giving model-off-duty, while the creamy ecru staples can be worn everywhere from her Pilates class to a girls' night.

Yoga pants have made a comeback, and fashion girls say they're here to stay.

These trousers look so elegant, you'd never guess that they're also comfortable.

Tube tops are another Y2K trend that's made a comeback. Layer this with a jacket to run errands or a blazer for dinner.

A tank dress is an easy one-and-done outfit that makes you look instantly put-together.

Sahara channels East Coast elegance during her golden-hour run in this bold, emerald-green set. On cooler fall days, she'll top off the look with a lightweight jacket to shield herself from the breeze. She also loves preppy heather gray or classic navy pieces for workout classes in the city.
]]>Marking her grand return to Manhattan after a summer full of travel, Turner enlisted the help of her stylist, Kate Young, to secure Look 7 from Ludovic de Saint Sernin Fall 2025. The 32-piece collection debuted in March during Paris Fashion Week. The skintight bodice, accented with grommets and corset-like lacing, was almost entirely made of snakeskin.

As a Louis Vuitton ambassador, Turner has access to any bag on the market. But she stayed true to her dress's original runway styling and opted out of a tote entirely. Instead, she coordinated her peep-toe burgundy mules to her red, trimmed-down manicure. Oversize black sunglasses matched the dress's drama.
On the Fall 2025 catwalk, the dress read more autumnal alongside semi-sheer brown tights and complementary pointy pumps. The model also carried a croc-embossed clutch, another of-the-moment animal print. Similar to the dress's arched bodice, it was pierced with silver grommets, and interlacing threads.

Since its debut in March, the snakeskin dress has made the rounds among fashion girls. In May, Miley Cyrus was the first A-lister to get her hands on it during her Something Beautiful press tour. The Grammy winner's stylist, Bradley Kenneth, paired it with sheer hosiery and strappy patent leather sandals.

By July, the celeb-beloved look had slithered into Vittoria Ceretti's closet for Amina Muaddi’s store opening soirée in Paris. Similar to Turner, she (and her stylist, Natasha Colvin) summer-ified it with peep-toe ivory mules. According to Ludovic de Saint Sernin, LVMH Métiers d’Art "sourced the most beautiful python skins" for Ceretti, Cyrus, and most recently, Turner.

If the Ludovic de Saint Sernin look is this favored before the Fall 2025 collection drops, I can't wait to see which celebs wear it come autumn.
Though Season 2 of Wednesday dropped on Netflix last week, the show's press tour is still going strong. Most recently, the star-studded cast jetted to Australia in kooky, Addams Family-core attire. Without breaking her method dressing streak, Ortega went straight from the airport to Bondi Beach—in the same anti-summer set, no less.
If you thought she'd swim in an all-black bikini—perhaps to channel her gothic character—think again. Ortega didn't style swimwear at all: just a leather trench coat tied over a satin slip dress. The 22-year-old also dipped her feet in the ocean with knee-high Dior D-Major Boots in tow. Don't worry, she went barefoot as to not damage the $2,150 Cruise 2025 shoes. Wednesday may be morbid, but she's not a Dior destroyer.
As evidenced by her weeks-long Wednesday promo, Ortega will never turn down an outfit change. Last week in New York City, she styled a Willy Chavarria skirt suit and an Elena Velez dress within hours of each other, swapping her statement hat for her $100,000 Aupen bag.
In Australia, however, the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star wore the same swimwear substitutes at the airport. Outside her gate, she was papped in the aforementioned leather trench. Once again, the waist strap was tied to cover a black graphic tee underneath. By pairing it with the same moto boots, Ortega's jacket felt extra autumnal. Her studded carry-on tote nearly blended into its patent leather exterior. Oval-shaped sunglasses finished Ortega's airport 'fit in true Wednesday form.

Sure, the forecast may call for itty-bitty shorts and sundresses, but according to Ortega, trench coat season came early.
Allow me to set the scene. With less than 10 minutes left in the episode, Conrad limps into his family's Cousins Beach house after cutting his leg while surfing. Belly, being the caring future sister-in-law (and former girlfriend) she is, tends to his wounds. The exes hadn't been that close to each other in months—if not years. So, of course, Bonrad had a moment. With Taylor Swift's "False God" as the soundtrack, how could they not?
Lifting his head off the semi-sheer puff sleeve of Belly's cotton voile blouse, Conrad was inches—no, centimeters away from kissing his brother's fiancé. Bonrad shippers everywhere screamed, "Do it, Belly!"
Ultimately, it didn't happen. Belly remained faithful to Conrad's cheating brother, Jeremiah. The episode ended with our lust-filled protagonist center-screen in a blouse from Dôen, Taylor Swift's favorite brand for romantic tops and dresses.

Belly's Dôen Fredrica Top was just as swoon-worthy as the almost-kiss itself. It featured a rounded neckline, short puffed sleeves, and scalloped lace along every hem—no wonder it sold out weeks ago. The $168 embroidered floral find is available in black, white, and beige, but series costume designer Jessica Flaherty dressed Belly in a nautical baby blue.
The top felt right up the show's Cape Cod-inspired alley. The 20-year-old's aesthetic is beachy and youthful, with splashes of oceanside shades to match the New England backdrop.
Lola Tung's character, Belly, is certainly on a Dôen kick this season. During Episode 5, she wore the sold-out Skylark Top, which bares a shockingly resemblance to her latest look. While strolling the aisles of Michael's with Conrad, Belly looked lovestruck in another puff-sleeve blouse. This time, it was ivory with a Peter Pan collar.
When she's with Jeremiah, Belly's style leans more reserved and minimalistic. (See her dainty Catbird engagement ring for proof, if you can find it.) When Conrad comes into frame, she's more often wearing whimsical tops with Dôen tags. See? Jenny Han truly does think of everything. As she suggests in the books, Belly is clearly in touch with her authentic self around Conrad.

Dôen's reach spans much further than the limits of Cousins Beach, thanks in large part to Taylor Swift. The star of the Summer I Turned Pretty soundtrack has worn Dôen over 10 times since 2020. One of her pieces, the eyelet and lace Henri Top she debuted in 2023, could easily fit into Belly's beachside closet.

Luckily for me, there are plenty more Bonrad moments on the horizon. Knowing Belly—I've read all of the books and binged the series, thrice—there may be another Dôen spotting yet this season, too.
My hunch was right—according to Google, searches for brown sneakers are at an all-time high, and I can't say I'm too surprised. Chocolate brown is set to be a leading fall color trend. As such, I sought out to find all of the best brown sneakers on the market, and I saw plenty of chic options in the process.
From Dua Lipa-approved Pumas to luxurious designer sneakers, the coffee-hued kicks I've found work for every budget and style. Plenty of pairs come in fall's favorite fabric, aka suede, and even more have the retro slim silhouette that It girls can't stop wearing. Without further ado, keep scrolling to shop the best brown sneakers, just in time to elevate your fall sneaker collection.

I'm calling it now: The Speedcats loved by Jennifer Lawrence and Rihanna will be on every It girl's feet come fall.

I love Dolce Vita for its sandals and heels, but its sneakers are just as good.

If you're looking for an investment-worthy pair, this cool quilted style from Toteme is the way to go.

I didn't know how much I loved brown and blue as a color combination until now.
Think of the new collection as a starting point for the rest of your fall shopping. It features the fan-favorite barn jackets from past years, now revamped for 2025 in a vibrant red color. The brand’s best-selling cashmere sweaters are also included, updated with trendy striped patterns and preppy dark color palettes. These are versatile essentials that can be layered effortlessly with every other fall fashion trend. Surprisingly, among the basics, there are enough animal-printed pieces to make me think about swapping out one or two of my monochrome outfits. Take cowhide, for example, which gets an East Coast prep upgrade in the form of cropped cardigans and sleek shoulder bags.
Ahead, you can browse every must-have find from the extensive collection. And if you see me wearing these pieces on repeat for the next four months, don’t worry about it.

Her celebrity colleagues, Zoë Kravitz and Dakota Johnson, are calling for an early start to fall fashion. Lawrence, on the other hand, is clinging to end-of-summer style. For dinner in the East Village, the Hunger Games alum tapped into the lace-trimmed skirt trend with a white slip she's owned since June. Once again, she paired it with an oversize vintage T-shirt circa 1995.
Usually, Lawrence elevates her tee with a statement necklace—she's partial to the corded pendant craze. This time, the A-lister chose a nearly-invisible chainlink version.

A vintage Fendi Mamma Baguette, in burgundy corduroy, brightened Lawrence's one-color combo. She debuted it the day prior, alongside vintage linen Balenciaga pants. The Row's Dune sandals would've matched her bag's crimson exterior. However, she chose another sold-out style from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's catalog: the Bare Flat Sandal in stark white. Contrary to her Manolo Blahnik must-haves, the $428 slides were noticeably toe ring-free.
Feeling déjà vu? That's because Lawrence wore a near-identical set earlier this summer. On June 25, she was papped in the same slip skirt, layered underneath a vintage Dolce & Gabbana nightgown. A strikingly similar vintage tee finished her white-on-white trio.
Clearly, Lawrence is on board the cherry red color craze, because her Hermès Victoria II Bag matched her Fendi find to a T. The only visible difference was its leather exterior, hence the $2,995 resale value. Her vintage Baguette is more affordable at $800, thanks to the corduroy cover.

Need I remind you, Kravitz and Johnson, it's still very much summer? While I'm certainly tempted to follow their fall-ish leads, I'm with Lawrence on this one. My summer uniform and I will stick around until leaves start to fall.
Mere hours after the brand's fifth perfume dropped, Hadid channeled Ôrebella's whimsically feminine aura in a delicately draped little white dress. It started as a sleeveless halter-top, then the bodice's panels split to reveal a plunging neckline. The entire back was open, revealing a gold, tiered belly chain around Hadid's hips. The ruching atop her mini skirt mimicked the bodice, while extra fabric fell to her knees. She gave the Grecian-looking gown her signature cowgirl treatment via cowboy boots, also in ivory with rust orange embroidery.
To no surprise, Hadid's accessories only upped her goddess glam. She slipped on arm cuffs, bold bangles, feathery drop earrings, and a $2,100 Jacquie Aiche necklace, in the shape of a thunderbird. Each piece was gold, of course, to match the caps on each Ôrebella perfume.

A few hours later, the star-studded soirée moved to Alba, a four-star Italian restaurant in L.A. The Rhode founder, for one, stayed in a polka-dot LBD from Dolce & Gabbana, which is shockingly still available for $3,395. Her purse of the evening was The Row Cecily Bag, a top-handle satin style also in Kendall Jenner's closet. Extra points for her Chanel lady bug-embellished pumps, a vintage find circa 2004.
Outside Alba, Kylie Jenner stayed by Bieber's side in a similar, skintight LBD, minus the polka-dots. The newly-turned 28-year-old chose a cutout-heavy sleeveless style to match her Miu Miu Arcadie Bag, also in black.

The guest of honor, on the other hand, did an outfit change before arriving at Alba. She followed Jenner's lead in a short-sleeve midi LBD, complete with a sleek, square neckline. Valentino's unreleased Panthea Bag casually rested on her shoulder, in all its snakeskin glory.
The Fall/Winter 2025 purse recently guest-starred in The Devil Wears Prada 2, alongside Anne Hathaway in a denim jumpsuit. Hadid carried Hathaway's all-black model by the chainlink straps. However, the pointiest of pointy pumps from Le Silla completed Hadid's after-party set, contrary to Hathaway's Chanel sandals.

Sure, they run in the same supermodel circles, but the Jenners, Bieber, and Hadid are rarely photographed together, making the Ôrebella bash even more of a moment.
When Marie Claire asked me to come up with a concept for my first column, a voice in my head immediately said jewelry. It’s been such a huge part of mine and my family’s lives, and, in my humble opinion, a must-have for elevating any outfit. I grew up watching my nana layer her costume jewelry, then watched my Aunt Lori as she started to build her collection and personal taste. (All while also curating the jewelry we've carried here at Hirshleifers over the last 30 years!)
I’ve always loved the way jewelry makes me feel and the way it evolves with me throughout my life. I still have some of my first pieces that I wear to this day, 20+ years after I bought them. Which brings me to the meat of my first column: The jewelry I never take off and how I stack around it.
In my view, the thing about stacking your jewelry is: There is no wrong way—but there is a formula I personally live by.

I have a Sophie Bille Brahe tennis necklace that I got a few years ago. It’s the starting point for my layering and sits the highest on my neck, which makes it easier to layer from there. For a starting piece, a tennis necklace is a classic that'll never go out of style. I love the brand Kimai for lab-grown options and Sophie Bille Brahe and Uniform Object for natural options.

To balance out the tennis necklace, I layer with a chunky chain that sits about an inch or so lower. Mine is Uniform Object. Foundrae and Sidney Garber also have great options—they all sit at the perfect length. For a more affordable option, Loren Stewart's chain is so chic.
Then, the key piece in necklace layering: a long chain. I’ve had my Hoorsenbuhs long-link chain for years. It’s a big investment, but it’s so versatile and a personal favorite. You can wrap it around and wear it short as a choker, or play with the lengths.

This changes up a lot, depending on my mood, my outfit, where I am, what I’m doing. The pieces I don’t take off are my Hoorsenbuhs cuff, my tennis bracelet, and my ID bracelet. I’ve gotten these particular pieces at significant times in my life and they feel like an extension of me. I’d be lost without them.
Right now, I feel like my stacking is a bit more playful on my wrists. I have a Nadine Ghosn pencil bracelet that I recently got—we just started carrying her pieces at Hirshleifers after a long friendship and I'm obsessed. She gifted me a playful bead bracelet that I’ve been loving wearing in the summer; it’s a fun piece that makes me smile. For a similar vibe, I love Roxanne Assoulin and Eliou.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my Shamballa bracelets. As one of their early U.S. partners, my family and I have been wearing Shamballa for years. They most definitely sit in the category of "bracelets I can’t go without" and add dimension, texture, and color to my stack. You can choose your beads individually and build your own bracelet; mine are reflective of my design choices. I also get them restrung every few years, so you can change up the bracelet by choosing different string colors and so on. For a more affordable option, Kimai does a great job.

Finally: my rings! My husband updated my engagement ring to a beautiful diamond a few years ago. I changed my old diamond into a pinky ring and wear that and an emerald on my pinky every day. I love a solitaire stone on your pinky—and not in a signet way; I feel like it’s a cool juxtaposition and a bit unexpected.
My other rings are a mix of things. I’m more of a chunky ring person outside of my engagement ring, so I love thicker bands like Hoorsenbuhs, Eli Halili, Spinelli Kilcollin, and Uniform Object. I also wear a M diamond ring by Sophie Bille Brahe. Again, it’s a fun take on what would be an otherwise serious ring!
My main takeaway? Have fun with it. Jewelry tells a story, and the best thing you can do is try out different combinations until it starts to feel like you.
]]>Swift’s visit by Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast coincided with the reveal of her twelfth studio album's cover and inside images, following months of fervent speculation from Swifties worldwide wondering when she’d get back in the recording booth. A promotional clip aired on social media before the full podcast itself, where Swift pulled a blurred-out vinyl from a locked briefcase. Once the show got going in earnest, the filter disappeared and Swift, styled by Joseph Cassell-Falconer, and photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott—displayed her Showgirl style.

The Showgirl outfits show Swift at her most exposed and empowered. On the cover, she is half-submerged in water while modeling a crystalline bralette with lines of scallop-shaped diamonds coating her torso by Area. She's worn the designer frequently from NYC dinners to the 2024 Super Bowl; notably, her cover set comes from its Spring 2022 collection inspired by "the glitz of an off-duty Vegas dancer." Sections of the cover break up Swift's body into pieces like broken glass. Track one's title, "The Fate of Ophelia," hints to the reference behind Swift's partially-underwater stance: John Everett Millais's Ophelia, a painting of the Hamlet character famously singing before she drowns in a river during the play.
As the New Heights episode aired, Swift shared more images from the album on her Instagram. In one shot, she lounges on a café chair in a burgundy bodysuit by The Blonds with a low-cut curved neckline and fishnet tights, with a glimpse of glittery knee-high boots peeking out from the side of the frame. In another, she balances on one leg with a crystal and feather boa (also by The Blonds) draped over her shoulders and a matching headdress perched atop her blonde hair. Yet another alternate album cover includes a tight black bodysuit and Manolo Blahnik heels with crystal Mary-Jane straps.
These album outfits are fit for a Vegas burlesque, or the "Vigilante Shit" section of her Eras Tour performance. It's sensual and sparkling, and the most revealing Swift has ever dressed in the public eye. (Further designer credits for her looks were not immediately available at press time; this post will be updated as they arrive.) Regardless, these outfits are not intended to represent the Swift who, as Travis Kelce described it, "power skipped" through each show.

Swift’s album art is the anchor for each era’s aesthetic. Each image inspires the outfits to follow in Swift’s eventual press interviews and tour costumes. The purple tulle dresses on Speak Now (and Speak Now [Taylor’s Version]) represented the love and longing she felt as she left adolescence for adulthood. The Tortured Poets Department’s layers of white, set on a stark black background, captured the depth of Swift’s angst and desperation during a difficult chapter in her life.
Kicking off her Showgirl era in burlesque attire says Swift has done her homework. (She performed a full routine in the "Bejeweled" video alongside Dita Von Teese, after all.) Her looks pay homage to generations of performers—and queue up an album where Swift will likely interrogate her life as one of the world's most famous entertainers. Song titles like "Cancelled!" and "Father Figure" suggest as much.
Much of that examination will revolve around Swift's life beyond the Eras Tour stage. She summarized the songs as covering "everything that was going behind the curtain" during the 149-show journey.

"My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress," she laughed. Of the cover image, she said, "I wanted to glamorize all the different aspects of how that tour felt."
On New Heights, she revealed the entire Showgirl album was written and produced during the European leg of her tour. She flew back and forth between Sweden and various stops to record; her lyrics, she says, capture how it felt to step off the stage, peel off the rhinestones, and prepare to do it all again for several more nights in a row.

The teeny-tiny sets also show another side of Swift: one who's at home in her skin and on stage. Considering her billion-dollar valuation and her reclamation of her master recordings, it tracks. The look and the sound of this era, with what little fans know, will definitely be her most self-assured. (The singer admitted she set an exceptionally high bar for the album—and that the songs are all "bangers.")

Swift’s team hinted her Showgirl season would be coated in glittery, tangerine orange with an Instagram post on August 11. Referencing Swift’s “next era,” her official fan account shared photos of Swift wearing orange dresses designed by Roberto Cavalli, Versace, and Etro for the Eras Tour. In the 24 hours until Swift’s podcast appearance, her website was also made over in orange with mint green accents. Fans speculated the orange tones were a nod to the appearance of copper oxidizing, since it turns from orange to green—which, they suggested, was a metaphor for Swift’s transformation in the public eye as she’s grown up as an artist in front of it.
That interpretation was maybe reading too much into the singer's choices. She described orange to Travis and Jason as representing how her life felt on the Eras Tour: "effervescent." Taylor Swift’s Last Showgirl lyrics will reveal exactly what she means by trading Tortured Poets' billowing layers for a series of rhinestone-coated bra tops and corsets. For now, it's clear that she's ready for fans to take their seats and see what happens behind the curtain. And in that way, she's never been more powerful or more vulnerable.
Editor's note: This is a developing story that will be updated.
]]>On August 12, the A-lister shared a post-shoot mirror pic with her 393 million Instagram followers. The burgundy croc-embossed bag, in all its $46,000 glory, casually rested on her shoulder, alongside a leopard-print Skims bralette. She opted out of pants completely, tying a fluffy white robe around her waist instead.
If the photoshoot was anything like her recent Miu Miu campaign, Jenner wore heels the entire time. So, once it wrapped, she changed into fuzzy fur slippers, courtesy of Louis Vuitton. The It girl added the monogram slides to her collection in 2020, but unfortunately, they sold out years ago. Apart from her Birkin, Jenner's only accessory was a pale pink Hydrojug tumbler.

Now, another moment for Jenner's Birkin, because I simply can't move on that fast. The rich-looking tote debuted in 2006, during Jean Paul Gaultier's tenure at Hermès. This particular model is famous for its east-west silhouette, which slashed the usual structured square in half. It also boasts slightly-longer straps, to accommodate the bag's horizontal body.
Gaultier's Birkins are hard to get your hands on as-is, but Jenner's exotic exterior likely made the search even more difficult. If you're lucky, you can find similar styles on secondhand sites.
Based on her Instagram stories, the Birkin 42 is a relatively new addition to her Hermès-heavy closet. (Perhaps it was a birthday gift to herself: She just turned 28 on August 10.) The day before, she posted a close-up of the vintage find, fresh out of the dust bag. As of pub time, Jenner had yet to take it out on the street style scene, so stay tuned.
This week, Hadid has delivered enough style inspo to last the entire summer, pulling off polka-dot shorts, gingham capri pants, and a ruffled babydoll dress in a matter of days. Most recently, her streetwear streak continued in West Hollywood while out to lunch with friends. My sneakerhead side was immediately drawn to her Jogger Re-Nylon Yancys. The $159 sneakerinas appeared even slimmer than her Adidas Sambas, from the rounded toe box to the elasticized heel. They're available in black, burgundy, ivory, and stark white; Hadid chose the White Smokey Grey colorway.
The stark white uppers matched Hadid's matching set, starting with a tank top-turned bralette. Its rough, frayed edges suggest the Ôrebella founder DIY'ed it herself. She paired it with white jeans from Jean Paul Gaultier in a low-rise, wide-leg silhouette. Instead of wearing the complementary denim jacket, Hadid carried it in her hand.

Hadid also heard Dakota Johnson and Zoë Kravitz’s directive to start styling fall pieces ASAP. First, she carried Saint Laurent's suede Icarino Bag: a rare micro-mini style that will hit stores in fall.
The brown quilted exterior was embroidered with the "YSL" logo, a trademark monogram seen on the Baby Icare and Sade Hobo Bags. Not only is she a Saint Laurent ambassador, she also frequently walks in the atelier's runway shows. So, of course she had first dibs on the unreleased purse. To finish, Hadid popped on wired oval-shaped sunglasses.

Vivaia's initial sneakerina, the Cristinas, launched in February 2025. Within weeks, the square-toe shoes received Hadid's endorsement, driving them to sell out on four (going on five) occasions.
They first became hard-to-get in March, when Hadid sported the ivory Cristinas, complete with satin laces and the skinniest of rubber soles. She leaned into their ballet-core complexion with dance-proof pieces, including capri leggings, a Saint Laurent bomber jacket, and even an oversize hair scrunchie. Clearly, Hadid was an instant fan, because two weeks later, she was spotted in the black Cristinas.
If Vivaia's Yancys are anything like the Cristinas, Hadid will get her hands on another colorway in the coming days. So, I highly advice you shop them now, while you still can. My cart's already full.
I write this on a sweaty 87-degree August day during yet another New York City heat wave. I'm desperate for a cool breeze and, as a result, a chance to wrap myself in warmer, cozier colors. As much as I've enjoyed butter yellow as a neo-neutral and zippy blood orange brightening my summer wardrobe, the idea of a chocolate brown chunky sweater or pumpkin-spiced trousers is what I really want. Summer's vibrant color trends were fun — but now it's time to embrace fall's rich and decadent palette.
Consider this a straightforward guide on which colors to swap for the summer-to-fall transition in 2025, curated by a fashion editor who studies runways for a living and is slowly, surely, overcoming her resistance to change. Here are six summer shades to retire and welcome their new replacements.

Butter yellow has served me well, but fall 2025 is the time to give your warmer-toned counterpart, mustard yellow, a fighting chance in the fashion scene. The odds are already in its favor, especially since the mustard yellow trend received an endorsement from Marie Claire's editor-in-chief, Nikki Ogunnaike, in her Self Checkout newsletter. I plan to try the peppery yellow shade as a barn jacket or low-stakes T-shirt.

I fully committed to the cherry red trend and bought ballet flats and a new Coach bag to play with the juicy color pop. Those items won't be entirely benched in my fall fashion rotation, but they will lose some playing time now that I've researched the maroon color trend that dominated the Fall 2025 runways. Specifically, I'm eyeing a barn red argyle cardigan and a striped rugby shirt, as the season also sees a resurgence of collegiate preppy style.

Black is a fundamental part of my wardrobe, and it will never be removed, now or in the future. That said, I'm also immune to the allure of luxurious cocoa brown, a color as delicious and hard to resist as my favorite sugar rush. Currently, my virtual shopping carts include chocolate-colored Adidas sneakers and a sweater vest to pair with wide-leg trousers for a casual-meets-preppy combination.

Pumpkin orange, trending for fall, is as expected as florals for spring. But with spiced orange frilly midi skirts that flawlessly execute 2025's boho fashion revival, and fashion girl-favorite Staud putting its unique spin on the color trend, pumpkin feels fresher than ever. I plan to start the new season by swapping out my leather sandals for a pair of orange-tinted riding boots, a silhouette that also happens to be a top fall 2025 shoe trend.

Choose a shade of purple; it has been a popular color trend recently, from digital lavender to vibrant lilac pastels in spring. But now, without a doubt, royal purple is taking center stage this fall. This shade is naturally associated with wealth and nobility, so any outfit you pick, whether a simple sweater dress or an east-west bag, will radiate rich-girl energy.

Like purple, green has recently enjoyed its time in fashion's spotlight. First, there was the boldness of Charli XCX's brat green, then spring brought us the softer mint, which later evolved into summer's most discreet color trend, olive green. Now, the rise of verdant green is making waves, seen on the Fall 2025 runways at Prada, Gucci, and Saint Laurent. My budget doesn't quite allow for a designer splurge right now, so I'm considering J.Crew's cashmere collection as my entry into the grass green trend.
]]>Unsurprisingly, my Pinterest mood board is already filled with countless baggy jean outfits, ranging from casual looks to polished styles. For relaxed weekend outings, I’ll wear barrel jeans with a basic T-shirt, a cozy cardigan, and knee-high boots. In contrast, for days at the office or after-work happy hours, I’ll pair trouser-like denim with a crisp button-down shirt, an oversized blazer, and sharp slingback shoes.
To pull these outfits together, I’m relying on my trusted denim collection, with pieces from Madewell, DL1961, and Mother. I’m also considering a few other styles from editor-approved brands like Frame, Agolde, and Everlane.
If you’re considering trying the roomy silhouette, feel free to check out my carefully selected edit below.

Ask me about Madewell’s Curvy Perfect Vintage jeans, and I’ll tell you that they’ve quickly become one of my favorite pairs of pants. They’re made with a contoured band and extra room around the hips, which makes them incredibly comfortable.

Championing stylish celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Katie Holmes, barrel jeans are a must-have in your capsule wardrobe.

Reformation's high-rise jeans will instantly elongate your legs for a flattering look.

Yes, you can wear white jeans after Labor Day! Just be sure to pair them with fall essentials like sweaters, trench coats, and ankle boots.

When I say that Mother’s cropped jeans feel as soft as a cashmere blanket, I’m not exaggerating. Put them on, and get ready to wear them all day long.

Dark wash denim is perfect for upscale events that require a more refined dress code. Pair these indigo pants with a stylish blouse and pointed pumps for your next night out.

Stitched with a puddle silhouette, Agolde puts a playful twist on the baggy jeans trend.

For those hesitant to try overly slouchy jeans, consider this pair from Still Here.

Abercrombie's collection of Curve Love jeans fits exceptionally well. They’re intentionally designed with an hourglass shape, so you won’t have to deal with an awkward waist gap.

Press-pleated jeans will never go out of style. Invest in these pants from Frame, and watch them stay in your closet for seasons to come.

Gap’s wide-leg jeans practically style themselves with built-in cuffs that add a dynamic edge.

Renowned for its inclusive range of sizes, Good American is perfect for women of all shapes. Explore styles that come in measurements from zero to 24.

Citizens of Humanity’s bootcut jeans will fit perfectly over any pair of stompers. You better believe I’ll be wearing these pants with my cowboy boots.

Drenched in a versatile shade, Paige’s medium wash jeans will complement a variety of casual outfits.

Travel back in time with these ‘70s-inspired bell-bottoms from Pistola. Amp up the vintage vibe with a ruffled chiffon shirt and sky-high wedges.
While Kylie Jenner rang in her 28th birthday at her Calabasas home, alongside Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner, Lipa jetted off to Mykonos, her "favorite island," with her "favorite people." Her birthday isn't until August 22, but the Grammy winner already shared post-party pics on Instagram, starring "the most gorgeous dress Simon made for me." That's Simon Jacquemus, creative director of Jacquemus and Lipa's close friend, who designed a high-neck, backless number for the occasion. (He also received an invitation to Mykonos, of course.)
The birthday girl's custom dress was just as photogenic as the oceanside backdrop, as white micro-mini sequins shined from head-to-toe. It could easily double as a bridal little white dress once her wedding rolls around.
The "Don't Start Now" singer's back was on full display, alongside an additional cut-out atop her hip. At first glance, the hip strap mimicked the thinness of a thong, but alas, this whale tail trick was just an illusion. It was connected to the sequin bodice.

The price tag of Lipa's birthday dress will forever remain under wraps—it's custom, after all. The four-figure status of Lipa's accessories, however, is no secret. First, the Tiffany & Co. ambassador frosted herself in the silver Peretti Side Cuffs in various asymmetrical silhouettes. They match her Victoria diamond stud earrings, also in silver hardware.
Suddenly, her budget jumped to five-figures with Tiffany & Co.'s Schlumberger Status Ring, which retails for $50,000. That's a few thousand less than the (rumored) $47,000 price tag of her four-carat engagement ring. To finish, Lipa carried the studded Mini Jodie Bag from Bottega Veneta, one of the rarest finds in her collection.
Sure, Lipa is on her birthday trip, but her latest looks have also read very bridal. For her first outing in Mykonos, the bride-to-be went viral in all-white Chloé, including a boho-chic blouse, plus a matching ruffled swimsuit. The next day, Lipa's ivory streak continued with a polka-dot bikini from Inalbis.
Since she said "yes" to fiancé Callum Turner in late 2024, Lipa's kept any and all wedding updates under wraps. In a June cover interview with Vogue, she shared she "wanted to finish my tour" before walking down the aisle. Lipa's Radical Optimism tour picks up again on September 1 and finishes in December, so perhaps she's planning an early 2026 wedding where she can wear her custom Jacquemus dress once again.
Even if I'm well past my classroom days, there's no denying the need for reinvention as summer comes to a close. So, I'm taking that "I need something new" energy to Zara. The retailer has always been my go-to for new-season styles that won't break the bank. This time around, I particularly have my eye on transitional tops that will take my outfits from summer to fall. Think: lightweight sweaters, elevated neckline tops, button-down shirts, and more, all in autumn's trendiest shades.
Below, I've rounded up the Zara tops that capture the transitional, back-to-school energy of early fall. Not only do my picks top into fall's biggest trends, but they all ring in at $100 and under, too.

Yes, I'll still be wearing butter yellow well into the fall.

A breezy top like this is the perfect thing to reach for on in-between weather days.

This top is a prime example how you transition summer's boho trend for fall.

Pair this top with a suede skirt and knee-high boots for a transitional boho-inspired look.

You can never have too many button-down shirts, especially when they come in a fun color.

Prepare to see purple everywhere in the coming months.

I used to layer lace camis like this all the time in the 2000s—I'm so glad the look is coming back.

I'll be getting behind the chocolate brown color trend with this top.

Wear this lightweight sweater now on cool summer nights, then layer it over tanks and tees come fall.

I'm already imagining how cool this blouse would look underneath leather and suede jackets.

I found an even more elevated version of your go-to T-shirt in this pick.

I'm predicting polo tops will be the next It-girl favorite for fall.

A vest top like this is always a safe bet if you want to look put-together and polished.

Navy and white is a color combination that's nothing short of elegant.
Following a mid-morning run to Erewhon in L.A., Johnson was papped in her latest high-low look, starting with the Gucci Brixtons. Retailing for $1,050, the black leather loafers fulfilled her outfit's "high" portion (and then some). Each toe box featured Gucci's iconic horsebit hardware, a trademark since the '50s. The collapsible heels can convert into mules, but Johnson wore them as-is. The Materialists star paired them with the unofficial Erewhon shopper uniform: light-wash jeans and a gray T-shirt.

The devoted Gucci ambassador also carried the B Large Shoulder Bag; a new $4,600 tote in brown monogrammed suede. (If you look closely enough at Johnson's photo, you'll find its leather top handle beneath an overflowing Erewhon bag.) Inspired by an archival 1950s accessory, the new B Bag debuted in the Fall 2024 collection. It was Sabato de Sarno's final design for the Italian label before Demna took over as creative director.
Before she became a Gucci girl in 2017, Johnson started collecting its bags for her personal archive. She now owns more than 15 styles, ranging from the oversize Giglio tote bag to itty-bitty Jackies. The B Bag is her newest purchase, matching the October-ready energy of her tried-and-true Brixton loafers.
Over the past decade, while Johnson's style evolved from business casual to California cool-girl, her love for Gucci Brixtons didn't budge. They found a permanent spot in her closet in 2015. Judging by her latest look, the leather loafers haven't moved since. She regularly deploys them alongside jeans in various washes and silhouettes. In 2017, Johnson added the pink colorway to her collection, oftentimes with a rare Gucci Bag in tow.

On my morning walks, I usually start seeing loafers instead of flip-flops around late September. But now, with Johnson's approval, I wouldn't be shocked if more loafers popped up in the coming days. At this rate, I'll be wearing knee-high boots by October 1.
Lawrence's fellow New Yorkers are swapping seasonal styles for transitional fall outfits at record speed. (Two days ago, Zoë Kravitz gave wide-leg trousers a go.) But not Lawrence. She follows the same street style formula now as she did in June, starting with the Susa Flat Sandals. Once again, J.Law chose the tan Luggage colorway with criss-cross uppers, plus single rings around each big toe.
Protesting fall fashion's early arrival, Lawrence added on a ribbed tank top with lightweight linen trousers, both in stark, anti-autumn white. Turns out, they're vintage Balenciaga circa Spring/Summer 2002. With oversize pockets, knee patches, and tapered legs, her bottoms read more cargo pant-ish than traditional linen bottoms.

At this point, the Hunger Games alum can pull off any color combo, no matter how separated they are on the shade wheel. Lawrence paused her cord necklace streak for a beaded pendant made entirely of authentic turquoise stones, earning it a $4,500 resale rate.
Lawrence's cherry red pick, on the other hand, was a slouchy shoulder bag. No, not the $2,995 Hermès Victoria II Bag she's repeatedly sported this summer. It was a new suede style, which likely boasts a four-figure price tag, too. Oversize black sunglasses finished her off-duty outfit (and made for the perfect paparazzi-blocking shades).
When Lawrence debuted the Manolo Blahnik Susans in mid-2022, she usually paired them with denim of all shades and silhouettes. (Presumably with a white T-shirt on top.)
Fast forward to now: Lawrence's jeans have been overthrown by satin and linen pants alike—her newest pair being the Balenciaga cargos. Even as sandals season nears its end, knowing Lawrence, her toe-ring slides will be back for round five next summer.
The items on this list range from trendy sweaters to some of the most popular shoes this season. There are also classic Levi’s jeans (which I own and love) along with a few early fall jackets that are perfect for layering over my best transitional outfits. Everything in my selection costs less than $200, so you can buy a few pieces at once without breaking the bank.
Later, you’ll get a sneak peek at what my closet will look like in the coming months. Yes, most of it is in shades of black and gray, but don’t let that stop you from stocking up early.

Kaia Gerber-approved brand Vuori is always top-of-mind when I shop at Nordstrom.

This cardigan has a subtle waist-defining feature that instantly elevates it.

Master the layered look with this two-and-one sweater vest.

Adidas just dropped the latest it-sneaker.

Meet the next iteration of the freaky garden clog.

This taupe belt is the perfect way to break up your all-black outfits.

Track pants will continue to trend for fall.

This preppy sweater would look perfect over a white T-shirt.

I need to get a new pair of rain boots before the slushy New York winter.

This scarf combines two summer trends—polka dots and silky scarves—and makes them work for the fall thanks to the darker color.
On August 10, Olivia Rodrigo proved Tappan's point during a lunch date with her boyfriend, Louis Partridge. A week after wrapping up her music festival run, she returned to L.A. in fall's plaid trend—specifically, a sleeveless tartan dress. Shockingly, neither @OliviaRodrigoClothing or I have ID'ed the thigh-length look yet, but knowing Rodrigo, there's a chance it's a nameless vintage find. It had a relatively high-neck and a buttoned empire waistline, so the Grammy-winner opted out of a necklace.
Instead, Rodrigo wore a few statement rings in silver, her now-signature hardware. She sourced celeb-beloved brand, Bonnie Clyde for tortoise-shell sunglasses, which matched her brown messenger bag.

Perhaps inspired by the Copenhagen Fashion Week shoe trends parading through street style last week, Rodrigo slipped on brown ballet flats from Anonymous Copenhagen. Her $290, coffee brown Rhina Flats were set with off-center bows atop each toe box. If you follow the "Vampire" singer on Instagram, you know she debuted them in June alongside a My Mum Made It babydoll dress in butter yellow.
Until now, Rodrigo has stood firmly in her pro-gingham stance this summer, most notably at Wimbledon 2025. But during 2022's Sour era, plaid followed the 22-year-old everywhere, from music video shoots to red carpet events. In the "Brutal" music video, she styled a punk plaid skirt set in the album's trademark color palette: purple, pink, and black.

That summer, '90s-coded plaid even popped up in Rodrigo's street style. In August 2022, the Disney Channel alum was spotted in New York wearing a red pleated skirt topped with green checkers. A plain black T-shirt and platform Doc Martens boots (Rodrigo's signature on-stage shoes) upped the mini's punk-ish feel.

There are still a few weeks before the plaid trend shifts into high gear. Until then, Rodrigo's looks both old and new are filled with styling inspiration. Start with a checkered green shift dress, and if you're feeling brave, take things up a notch with a pleated tartan skirt circa '22.
Last week, while ateliers like Cecilie Bahnsen and OpéraSport staged their runways, fashion girls started their own slew of IRL trends. Studded ballet flats, in particular, grabbed Holmes's attention all the way in Manhattan. On August 11, three days after fashion week wrapped, she gave a black pair with silver spikes a go.
While filming her rom-com, Happy Hours, they looked sleek alongside wide-leg jeans. Then, she tucked a white Tina Turner T-shirt into her bottoms, and popped on a black belt with gold hardware.

Over the top, she styled a crimson button-down as a jacket (even though it was 88° Fahrenheit). Matching red sunglasses in a shield-ish shape finished the Dawson's Creek star's on-set outfit. Those pieces make Holmes the next celebrity to approve tomato girl summer, following Bella Hadid and Jennifer Lopez's lead.
Before now, Holmes hadn't publicly worn stud-covered shoes. If I didn't know any better, I'd say she saw them in Copenhagen and immediately placed an order.
On August 5, a guest paired her all-white set to black studded ballet flats baring a shocking resemblance to Holmes's new purchase. A few days later, another attendee pulled off studded Mary Janes with the scarf belt fad. Perhaps the strapped silhouette will catch Holmes's eye next.

At this point, Katie Holmes is the blueprint for any flat newbies. For over two decades, she's worn Mary Janes and ballerinas alike, from an Alaïa pair in '08 to her trusty Mansur Gavriels. This week's studs are sending a message: Her collection is taking a maximalist turn.

While exploring street style scenes from New York and Copenhagen, I saw numerous city residents wearing the classic top. One well-dressed urbanite layered on trends, pairing a striped rugby jersey with loose barrel jeans. Meanwhile, another gave a sophisticated twist to the athletic-inspired shirt by wearing a polished barn jacket, sleek Bermuda shorts, and stylish kitten heels.
Eager to jump on this sporty trend, I’ve put together a stylish shopping list for myself—and for you, of course. Keep scrolling to discover a selection of pieces from favorite brands like Aritzia, Madewell, and Everlane. Pair them with fall essentials—such as sharp trench coats, flowy denim maxi skirts, and riding boots—and you’ll easily complete your collection of autumn outfits.

Achieve a collegiate style by pairing Aritzia’s Lomu top with a pleated skirt and shiny loafers.

If you’re looking for a simple black-and-white shirt that goes well with almost anything, let me introduce you to this versatile piece.

Madewell’s rugby shirt features a blend of different-sized stripes for a dynamic twist.

Designed with a cropped silhouette, Reformation’s Anna top pairs perfectly with high-waisted bottoms. Try it with leather pants or wide-leg jeans.

Handle transitional weather with this short-sleeved rugby shirt that won’t make you sweat. If it gets colder, layer this top under another piece.

Unless you’re not in the mood to wear stripes, choose this solid-colored option from Gap.

Unlike traditional rugby shirts, this piece from Seven Wonders is made from a cozy knit blend. Finish the look with the brand’s matching shorts.

Maybe I’m biased because I grew up in Washington, D.C., but I can’t help but love Araminta James’s Georgetown shirt. I picture myself wearing this cute top with denim jeans and Adidas Sambas.

For a relaxed fit, try Ralph Lauren’s loose rugby shirt. Balance your look by pairing this top with slim bottoms.

Designed with bubblegum pink stripes, this Damson Madder shirt is incredibly stylish. If you’re craving sweet shades, add this style to your shopping cart.

Who knew chocolate brown could look so great with sky blue! It’s the unexpected color combo I didn’t realize I needed—until now.

Priced under $100, I recommend buying two of these tops from Everlane. The brand offers five different color options, including olive green and navy blue.

Guest in Residence is well known for its knitwear collection, but don’t overlook the brand’s selection of rugby shirts. They're just as good.

While definitely casual, this top can easily be dressed up. Just add a luxurious slip skirt and heeled mules, and you have a cute outfit for going out.

Go pantless in Good American’s striped mini dress. Complete the look with knee-high boots and anticipate endless compliments.
The boho look, popularized in recent collections from Chloé and Zimmerman, is proving to be one of the season’s most prominent early trends. For fall, it moves beyond ‘70s-inspired silhouettes and airy fabrics. Instead, it gets bolder for fall with chilly-weather textures like suede, leather, and luxe (often faux) fur. Strappy sandals are replaced by suede sneakers and flat knee-high riding boots. Even the color palette darkens, with butter yellow giving way to chocolate brown and bordeaux.
If you’re ready to embrace the look, keep scrolling. Up ahead, I've compiled every must-have boho-inspired trend that you can (and should) adopt to keep the vibe alive this fall.

Suede is the luxurious fabric that almost anyone can afford right now. Zara's suede jackets have gone viral, but you can just as easily shop Bella Hadid's favorite suede Coach bag or a pair of suede boat shoes from Aritzia's collaboration with Sperry.

Lace might be a summer staple, but I believe it can also easily transition into fall. Layer your lace-trimmed skirts and shorts under chunky sweaters or find darker-toned lacy pieces to make them suitable for the season.

This summer was all about zebra and cheetah prints, but there's a new animal in the jungle worth your attention: python. Snake prints are dominating accessories, making a statement in this season's top bag and shoe trends.

Speaking of bag trends, one of this season's most luxurious-looking styles is the padlock look. It's reminiscent of the slouchy bags often seen on the arms of early-aughts It girls like Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, but with a modern twist. The padlocks themselves are usually smaller but still make a statement.

Fringe is the latest western-inspired trend making its way into the boho fashion scene. Also see: the rise of cowboy boots as a staple for fashion girls. This season, it appears on everything from suede jackets to silky wrap skirts.

As someone who used to ride horses, I'm excited to see the riding boot become fall's must-have shoe. It was spotted on the streets of Copenhagen Fashion Week this month, which is a strong early sign of its popularity. After all, Scandinavian girls were behind the viral rise of the flip-flop. In this case, all signs point to this boot following the same trend.

If you bought into 2024's mob wife trend, this is your sign to pull your faux fur coats out of retirement. The look is one of the season's nature-inspired trends that has been quietly going viral this month. So lean into the soft energy and layer them over dark-toned florals and one of the lacy pieces from earlier on this list.
]]>Mere hours before performing in Sardinia, her final stop on the Up All Night tour, Lopez posed in a long-sleeve bodysuit (and not much else) on Instagram. No, it wasn't a bedazzled one-piece from her costume rack, but a turtleneck number out of her winter rotation. Lopez opted out of pants completely, pairing it with semi-sheer tights instead. Occasional lacy florals stretched from her hips past her pointy ankle-strap pumps.
Although she's in Italy, J.Lo channeled French girl fashion with a black leather beret. Gold bangles, plus mismatched rings, added some dimension to the Maid In Manhattan star's one-color combo.

In March 2025, fashion girls at Paris Fashion Week loved a pantsless look as long as tights were involved. By the final shows, lace versions cemented themselves as a Parisian essential on the street style circuit.
Back in January 2024 at Schiaparelli's Couture Week show, Lopez was ahead of the trend in a transparent black pair, minus the rose embroidery. On top, she went the turtleneck route again, this time in a chunky white knit.

A few weeks later, Lopez brought her new favorite hack to New York City. She styled head-to-toe LaPointe Fall 2024, including see-through black tights layered underneath itty-bitty leather shorts. An oversize hoodie dressed down her tights, but that was immediately reversed by a glamorous fur coat. A Gucci Bamboo Top-Handle Bag upped the loud luxury of Lopez's outfit.

I don't know about you, but my tights collection has seen better days. According to Lopez, now's the time to stock up on substitutes so good, they can be worn all by themselves.
As to be expected, the most popular colors on the Fall 2025 runways also match what you'd expect from an autumn palette. Trench coats and thick cardigans were made in the ever-popular pumpkin-spice orange. Designers reimagined the warm maroons and yellows of falling leaves into leather jackets and jacquard suits, but with a richness that makes you think of a harvest feast rather than a maple tree in transition.
There's also the feeling that fall's color trends are irresistible because they're familiar and pull inspiration from nature. You don't need to be intimidated by a grape purple pump or a blazer that looks like butter lettuce—you've seen these organic shades before, just now they'll be in your closet rather than on your plate.

Warm, peppery reds appeared in shows and became conversation-starting blouses at Khaite and Christopher John Rogers, as well as weatherproof parkas at Louis Vuitton and leather trench coats at Gabriela Hearst. When you style the shade yourself, try pairing the chili-colored red with warm tones, like brown knee-high boots or a tan trouser.

Admittedly, a chocolate brown trend has been emerging for some time. But as seen with Fall 2025's supple leather separates, faux fur coats, and ruffled going-out tops that resemble Hershey's bars, deep, rich brown is only going to grow in popularity. Treat the shade like its neutral sister, black, and consider a head-to-toe monochromatic look.

Brat green had its moment in the spotlight last year, and now it's time for lush lettuce to get some attention. Featured in a variety of silhouettes, from front-pleat trousers to bold-shouldered cocktail dresses and snakeskin bags, the bright, saturated green works best as a standalone color accent.

Spiced orange frequently appears on fall runways, but unexpected, intricate textures made the color seem worth trying for a new season. From chevron-printed velvet shirt dresses at Gucci to lace turtlenecks at Saint Laurent and sparkly party pants at Miu Miu, the pumpkin patch shade is a familiar yet fresh pop of color this time around.

While summer 2025 introduced a mustard yellow color trend with golden beach cover-ups and snakeskin handbags, fall 2025 is when designers truly celebrate the Dijon hue. As midi skirts (Miu Miu and Alaïa), leather zip-up jackets, and rich jacquard suiting (Burberry) emerge, mustard yellow proves to be a comforting color with more impact than neutral-like butter yellow.

Royal purple took on a more energetic and unavoidable presence on the Fall 2025 runways. The specific shade of purple has historically represented wealth—going back to the Byzantine era—and designers embraced its regal connections with brushed suede (Gucci), velvet (Ralph Lauren and Nina Ricci), and soft leather (Miu Miu and Khaite). A well-made trouser or a high-quality knit in royal purple can add a touch of luxury and nobility to your modern fall wardrobe.

Given her affinity for '90s-era fashion, her stylist, Danielle Goldberg, chose a black pair with a low-rise waistline and extra-long hems emphasizing her pointed-toe pumps. Knowing her, they're the $1,100 slingback Vendomes from Saint Laurent, which she's worn on repeat since 2023.
If the star had saved her outfit for October, the Caught Stealing star might've coupled her pants with a button-down or a cashmere sweater, presumably with The Row tags. This time, however, she chose a black cropped satin vest.

Kravitz further dressed down her set with '90s-inspired accessories, starting with silver wraparound sunglasses. She covered her hair with a black-and-white bandana. Much to my surprise, she left her designer handbags at home—even her new Saint Laurent Baby Icare purse, straight from the Fall 2025 collection.
To finish, Kravitz wrapped the cord necklace trend around her neck, leaving a silver pendant to dangle. It complemented her diamond cross earrings from New York-based jeweler, Jessica McCormack, which retail for $13,300.
Kravitz hasn't worn structured trousers in a minute. In recent months, she preferred loose-fitting joggers or jeans, usually from—you guessed it—The Row. I, for one, haven't seen her in this pleated of a pair since August 2024, during her Blink Twice press tour.
After an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she was papped in all-black wide-leg trousers, plus a matching oversize blazer. A leather Saint Laurent belt, with a gold square-shaped buckle, separated her top and bottoms. In the accessory department, Kravitz's The Row sunglasses had a shield-ish look to them, much like her most recent shades.

Kravitz certainly doesn't wear trousers as often as Margot Robbie or Zendaya do. On the off chance she does, trust they'll be as wide-leg as possible. That way, they're as comfortable as the track shorts she left behind.
